Until the age of ten, I lived on a naval base in southern Japan. There, I was the only thing that stood still. Teachers, neighbors, family, and friends came and went with their own stories. It was there that I was exposed to numerous cultures and experiences and learned the value of connecting with people through storytelling.
No matter where life took me, I always knew that helping others would come first in my field. It wasn’t until my second year of college that I decided I no longer wanted to pursue a degree in psychology and decided to pursue a degree in Journalism and Media instead, as I felt that written words were my most powerful tool.
I have always wanted to work in a field where I could take helpful information and disseminate it in creative and engaging ways, touching the emotions of others and bringing communities together, if only for a moment.
In my spare time, I love to bake and try new recipes. I love challenging myself in the kitchen, just as I do in my work life. I also love being around animals, grounding myself in nature, and listening to podcasts!
I am currently looking for a position in the Philadelphia or NYC area where I can combine my experiences in non-profit development and media to positively impact the community.
